RBI Assistant Exam 2019

The Reserve Bank of India, RBI, is the Banker and Policy maker for all the Banks of the country. Every year it invites applications for the post of Assistant in its various offices across the country. RBI Assistant Exam 2019 is one of the distinguished banking examinations conducted in an online format. This national level entrance examination takes place in two stages:
  • Preliminary Exam
  • Main Exam

After qualifying the main examination, candidates are required to take a language proficiency test (LPT). The test is conducted in the offcial/local language of the concerned state concerned. The candidates who are not proficient in the official/local language are disqualified. The recruitment of the candidate entirely depends on the performance and scores obtained in the online tests followed by the Personal Interview Session.

Eligibility Criteria:
Educational Qualification:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks.
  • The knowledge of computers is mandatory, especially word processing.
  • Candidates applying for the post should be proficient in the official language of the concerned state, which falls under the recruiting office.
  • Any candidate belonging to Ex- Servicemen category (except the dependents of ex- servicemen) should be a graduate from a recognized University.  He/she should have passed matriculation or an equivalent examination of the Armed Forces. Also, the candidate must have served for at least 15 years in defence.
Age Limit:
  • The age limit of the applicants should be between 20 and 28 years.
  • The upper age limit relaxation is given to different categories and sections of the society.

Unlike the previous years’ procedure, the latest selection process includes three steps:
  1. Online Objective Type- Preliminary Examination (100 marks)
  2. Online Objective Type- Main Examination (200 marks)
  3. Personal Interview (35 marks)

    The candidates who get through the written examination are eligible for the Personal Interview Session. The total marks allotted for this round are 35. The marks of all three rounds are cumulatively considered on the basis of which the final job offers are made to the candidates.
