IBPS Clerical Exam Pattern 2020

Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) is an autonomous body conducting multiple examinations on behalf of various nationalized banks. They are IBPS PO Exam, IBPS Clerical Exam, and IBPS Specialist Officer to name a few. Every year it invites applications to recruit candidates for clerical posts. The recruitment exam is conducted for different organizations like Public Sector Banks, Co-operative Banks, Private Banks, Central/ Financial institutions and other Financial Institutions.
This year, the Common Written Exam (CWE) organized by IBPS for Clerk Recruitment is scheduled in the month of December-January. The preliminary exam will be held on 12th, 13th, and 19th December 2020 and the main exam will be conducted on 24th January 2021. In order to qualify the exam, applicants should know the latest exam pattern and prepare an apt study plan.
IBPS Clerical Paper Pattern 2020
The paper follows a two-tier pattern:
  • Preliminary Examination- 100 Marks
  • Main Examination- 200 Marks
Both the exams are in online mode i.e. computer based and are objective in nature.

  • There is a negative marking of 0.25 marks for every incorrect answer. Each section is alloted a time limit of 20 minutes.
  • Preliminary Examination can be taken both in Hindi and English medium.

  • The total duration of the main exam is 160 minutes i.e. 2 hour 40 minutes.
  • There is a penalty of 0.25 marks for every incorrect answer.
  • Main Examination can be taken both in English and Hindi medium.
The IBPS Clerical selection process entirely depends on the marks obtained in the Main Exam. There is no group exercise or personal interview in the recruitment process.
